ABOUT REBEKAH

Rebekah has had an interest in costume design since college. Growing up a theatre kid, she has always been involved in the arts in some way or another, so it was natural for her to pursue a degree in the arts. First majoring in secondary education with emphases in English and Theatre, she quickly realized that a life in theatre was her true calling. Her initial thought was to pursue an acting career, but through working in the university costume shop and a few design opportunities while finishing her Bachelors degree, she found a passion for costume construction and design. 

After graduating and working for a couple years, Rebekah began to pursue an MA in Costume Design to build an education and career in costume design. It is through this degree and its experiences that she truly found her calling and passion in life and continued that education with a MFA in Costume Design. Nothing is more rewarding for her than seeing a finished production on stage that came about through hard work and preparation. Having a background in English literature, Rebekah focuses a great deal on script analysis and character development. For her, it is vitally important for the costumes she designs to enhance the actor's performance and help him or her portray that character correctly. 

It is her hope that you will browse her work and feel inspired by her great attention to detail and good eye for color, pattern, and texture.
